"End The Stigma - Start The Conversation!"

Stigma is the number one enemy for people with mental illness, leading them to never seek the help they need. The fear of being viewed as broken, violent, unreliable, unable to function as a productive member of society, or any of the hundreds of reasons one tells him/her self are all because of the stigma associated with mental illness. Because of this, secondary issues such as drug and alcohol addiction become the coping mechanism for the symptoms of mental illness, ultimately leading to a person’s end.

How can we prevent this from happening? By ending the stigma and starting the conversation!

The purpose of this walk is to help bring appropriate attention to mental illness as a medical condition comparable to any other disease such as diabetes or cancer. The difference is that recovery is possible for many. There have never been as many treatment options available as there are today for mental illness. Please help us to fund our programs and services so we may lend a helping hand to those who desperately need it.
